BIO

I’m an Italian-based freelance social designer and cultural manager focused on building connections and advocating for the transformative potential of creative disciplines in promoting systemic change. My practice and research interests include citizens’ involvement in democratic processes, intercultural and civic education, and cultural public policies.

After graduating in Communication Design from the Polytechnic University of Milan, I worked as a Creative Project Manager for a leading Italian independent festival on visual design. Recently, I concluded my Master's program in Eco-Social Design at the Free University of Bolzano-Bozen, which guided me to a more conscious and responsible practice. In November 2024, I will start a PhD in (Re)Designing Democracy at UHasselt (Belgium).

"Eyes On" is a special project within Graphic Days. This initiative is driven by the aspiration to cultivate a culture of dialogue and celebrate the visual culture of a chosen guest country. Over three years, I assumed responsibility for the organisational facets and content curation of three international collaborations, focusing on Romania, the Netherlands, and Ukraine.

"Eyes On Romania" emerged from the desire to foster a positive discourse around Romanian culture, considering the numerous Romanian communities residing in Turin, Italy. To gain a deeper understanding of Romania's unique visual design scene, our team initiated collaboration with the Romanian Design Week. In May 2019, we embarked on a crucial trip to Bucharest during the design event, allowing us to personally connect with the creatives and immerse in the Bucharest atmosphere. Finally, in October 2019, the exhibition "Eyes On Romania" inaugurated. Patronised by the General Consulate of Romania in Turin, it attracted over 8,000 visitors in just four days. This exhibition showcased not only historical pieces of Romanian graphic design but also placed a strong emphasis on emerging talents: graphic designers and illustrators keen on showcasing their culture's potential and elevating Romania's recognition as a country with abundant cultural and artistic possibilities.

"Eyes On the Netherlands" unfolded in May 2021 and was a result of collaboration with the Dutch design festival Graphic Matters. Supported by the Embassy and Consulates of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy, Pictoright, and Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, this event featured a unique exhibition titled 'An Alphabet of Cases' by Richard Niessen. For the first time ever, the curator designed a mobile chest of drawers that provided insights into the wonders of the graphic design profession.

Following our successful proposal for the "Visualise" funding call by the Ukrainian Institute in 2020, the exhibition "Eyes On Ukraine" opened its doors to the Italian creative community one year later. This initiative aimed to showcase the unexpressed potential of visual design originating from Ukraine, characterised by a vibrant and creative community deeply rooted in the country's historical heritage. The exhibited projects featured renowned designers who played pivotal roles in defining the Ukrainian style, alongside the emerging voices advocating for it. Over the course of 11 days, the event attracted more than 9,000 visitors who immersed themselves in hundreds of illustrations, editorial pieces, and experimental projects.
